Jewels Of The Earth

"The beauty of the earth,
Can never be denied,
Inherited from God above,
We ought to feel such pride.

The opalescent skies,
With specks of blue and red,
That sparkles in the bright sunlight,
With bits of golden thread.

The clouds of purest quartz,
That sometimes turn to gray,
With streaks of silver lightening,
Crystal rain drops come our way.

The trees with leaves as emeralds,
That sparkle one by one,
And tiny citrine colored buds,
Are brightened by the sun.

The ocean waves as topaz,
As blue as blue can be.
A touch of emerald added,
And then you have the sea.

The rainbow that is glowing,
Across the misty sky.
The colors of the jewels combined,
Is candy to the eye.

The purple amethyst,
On Mountains shady side.
With sparkling diamonds on the snow,
That cover mountains pride.

Inherited from God above,
I feel His love inside.
The beauty of the earth,
Can never be denied."

Always True

"The forest whispers it's beauty.
Summer rain falls like a symphony.
Rusty fall leaves crush beneath my feet.
A dreamy mood floods this season.
Then shadows of a bitter winter blow.
Leaves make their escape
Leaving bare limbs to fight the cold.
Snow and ice follow and produce a wonderland.
Coating everything in sight with their glory.
Then snow gently falls, leaving crystalline fluff
with diamond dust that glitters in the sunlight.
Mother earth, Her beauty never ends."

Autumn Farewell

"Petals faded from the sun
Falling gently one by one
Leaves all touched by autumn's gold
Interspersed with colors bold
Grass is weary from summers' heat
Soon cold winds the blades defeat
Time for natures rest to come
Summers beauty comes undone;
Say farewell to lovely fall.

Soon snow and ice will blanket all."

Taking Turns

"Moonbeams cast a shadaw on the wall.
Sun rises and the phantom shadows fall.
Sun then sets and Moon resumes her glow;
each displays, in turn, a splendid show."

Rain

"Drip ()
Drip ()
Drip ()
Rain falls slowly,
A melody rings holy.
Sliding down my window pane,
What a lovely thing is rain."

A Calendar

"January brings the snow;
Makes our feet and fingers glow.
February brings the rain,
Thaws the frozen lake again.

March brings breezes, loud and shrill,
To stir the dancing daffodil.
April brings the primrose sweet,
Scatters daisies at our feet.

May brings flocks of pretty lambs
Skipping by their fleecy dams.
June brings tulips, lilies, roses,
Fills the children's hands with posies.

Hot July brings cooling showers,
Apricots and lillyflowers.
August brings the sheaves of corn,
Then the harvest home is borne.

Warm September brings the fruit;
Sportsmen then begin to shoot.
Fresh October brings the pheasant,
Then to gather nuts is pleasant.

Dull November brings the blast;
Then the leaves are whirling fast.
Chill December brings the sleet,
Blazing fire and Christmas treat."

Through the Year

"January falls the snow,
February cold winds blow,
In March peep out the early flowers,
And April comes with sunny showers.

In May the roses bloom so gay,
In June the farmer mows his hay,
In July brightly shines the sun,
In August harvest is begun.

September turns the green leaves brown,
October winds then shake them down,
November fills with bleak and smear,
December comes and ends the year."

Walking

"I walked on a snow-bank that squeaked like leather,
Or two wooden spoons that you rub together.

I walked on green moss and brown earth, sprouting
With little grass blades on their first spring outing.

I walked on blossoms and cool, green cresses,
And grass that rustled like silken dresses.

I walked on bracken, and dry leaves after,
That flamed with color and crackled with laughter.

I walked on the earth as the seasons came,
And under my feet it was never the same!"
