A beautiful lake surrounded by mountains

Situated in the foothills of the Alps of Fribourg is the beautiful Lac Noir, also called Schwarzsee by the German speakers, which means "black lake". A visit to the Lac Noir is a fun day out for the entire family. An opportunity to enjoy peaceful walks, fish, sail and relax.

Schwarzsee has approximately 500 permanent inhabitants. They live in the part which belongs to the commune de Planfayon, chef-lieu of the Haute-Singine. The mountain by the lake is the Kaiseregg and it is 2185m high.
