I enjoy reading, specially poetry and
short stories. I grew up watching my parents being surrounded
by books, they loved to read and I hope my son will enjoy reading
too.
Besides reading, I also like to collect books which are important
to me for some reason. The books I like to collect are children
illustrated books from some particular authors and some of these
books are very special to me. |

My love for books began with Joan Walsh
Anglund, who also inspired me to draw when I was a child. When
I was 5 to 6 years old and learning to read, my father gave me
a small book from Joan W. Anglund with the Portuguese title "A
é para Amor" ('A is for Always' - see picture on
the left). I immediately fell in love with her beautiful illustrations
and it was the first book I ever read. |

Many
years later, I tried to buy more books from Joan Walsh Anglund,
but they were very hard to find where I live. Her newest books
were not translated to Portuguese anymore and the older books
were out of print. These books are very special to me not only
because I started reading with them, but also because the beautiful
illustrations inspired me a lot do draw when I was a kid. |
 Today I have over 50
different Joan Walsh Anglund books. I only have 4 books in Portuguese:
the one my father gave me (A is For Always) and 3 that I purchased
from a Brazilian lady from Curitiba (Spring is a New Beginning
- A Primavera é um Eterno Começo, A Book of Good
Tidings - Um Livro de Belas Palavras and A Friend Is Someone
Who Likes You - Um Amigo é Alguém que Gosta de
Você. Thank you Ligia for the books!). I started this collection
in 2004 and I'll continue searching for these books on the internet. |

love all Holly Hobbie, Mary Engelbreit and Becky Kelly Books.
I absolutely love their beautiful illustrations. Below is a list
of the books I have and some I am looking for.
A couple
of friends asked me once which are the books I have and which
are those I am looking for because they wanted to search them
for me, so here is the list I made for my friends. I will also
use it in the future when I search for books to buy on ebay.
