The other Yugoslavian Republics, Bosnia, Croatia, Macedonia and Slovenia, declared their independence in 1991 and 1992, leaving only Serbia and Montenegro unified).

After the Second World War, the country was divided, originating the Federal Republic of Germany (Western Germany) and the Democratic Republic of Germany (Eastern Germany), which were re-unified in 1990 after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
